B. Wankel Hardware in Manhattan is a miracle on 88th St. & 3rd Ave, living the words on the Statue of Liberty. For over 100 years this family business has carried plumbing, electrical, power tools, paint, housewares, etc. But the love and respect of the family and city for its varied staff is a true American beauty.

Our employees include physically or mentally challenged, cancer patients, and runaway teens that are building new and responsible futures. The formerly homeless, or incarcerated persons who have paid their debts to society have found a new start working at Wankel's Hardware. Others that have joined our staff have escaped wars, famine and dictators in other lands to find freedom.
